Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 7Tarana had arrived and he ended up coming up delivering some urgent news.Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 7 by LordElthibar
“My lords, my king, the enemy is at the moment planning to attack these mining villages within this valley on the edge of the Terratun mountains,” Tarana declared.
“Are they really so foolish as to mount an assault there?” King Tiberius questioned. “They know of our strategies about using the terrain to our advangate.”
“I believe it’s more complicated than that,” Tarana replied. “They know about the pass that could lead their men behind the gap between the cliffs. They could surround our soldiers and crush them.”
“How could they have figured out the mountain pass?” General Flavius questioned.
“Then we have been betrayed most likely by a member of the king’s inner circle,” Lord Talvenoff declared as he glared at Stretonius and I with a biased suspicion.
“What makes you think that Gatain or I did this?” Stret
Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 6Tarana ended up riding out with a small group of knights from which to defend him from bandits that might be on the road. He knew that it wouldn't be enough to lead an assault on the barbarian horde but many of us didn't know what he was truly up to. We all thought that he was out on a scouting party. He was however, riding out to meet the warlord Theodoric, leader of the Shicralanians. He ended up carrying a detailed map of what we knew of Cloria today.Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 6 by LordElthibar
As Tarana ended up leaving his weapons behind, he ended up waving a white flag of truce as to meet with them, Theodoric declared, “Well, it’s a rare sight that I see you here. Are you surrendering or begging a truce?”
“Well what can change your mind about an invasion?” Tarana questioned.
“Nothing,” Theodoric replied. “Does that satisfy you?”
“Father, don’t kill him!” Aelfric exclaimed. “You will lose your position of respect among the people!”
Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 5Aelfric and his chosen warriors were patrolling the camp as to see that each of the slaves, who were captives after the raid on the Romano-Clorian outpost, was treated well. It was by the request of Chilina that no one was to be treated with disrespect. There were several cases in which a few women were about to be violated when the chosen swords of Aelfric stopped them. They were only prisoners and thus unprotected by the traditions and code of the Shicralanians. However, the most unruly of the warriors among them were growing hostile. Aelfric was upset since rape was forbidden by the code of the warrior of their tribe and that dishonoring someone in imprisonment or any other fashion was considered a weak act but not one that dishonors the warriors themselves.Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 5 by LordElthibar
“I thought that I had made my orders clear,” Aelfric declared to his war band. “If any of you are to take these women, then take them as wives rather than violate them.”
“Why do you make such demand
Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 3On the isle of Marshala, the isle that was granted to the Shicralanians by Cloria’s previous king, trouble was brewing. The Shicralanians were a tribe from the Goths and they were not a peaceful people. Many pagans persecuted Christians out of their hatred for Rome. I knew that they only took advantage of the alliance with us and Rome but we thought that it would be a merciful thing to do to grant them a piece of land that we never used. A small percentage of them claimed to be Christian but they wouldn’t even follow the Mother Church, let alone accept the salvation and love of Jesus Christ.Land of Cloria: Book 1, Chapter 3 by LordElthibar
They had been able to turn the marsh island into a fertile farmland but they still wanted more since many believed they have been wronged by Rome. The leader of the Shicralanians, Theodoric, was a mere warlord who wanted nothing more than to have his enemies tremble in fear before him. They were a warrior society but Theodoric was taking things to the extreme, even for their tribe. He h
